ZylSerialPort.NET is an asynchronous serial port .NET component designed to ensure the communication with external devices that have been connected to the computer via serial ports.
This is a thread-based, event-driven component that comes with support for devices such as modems, barcode readers and GSM modules as well as other similar types of connected products.
It features support for various types of devices, including those connected to the computer via USB ports. It can be used with IrDA and Bluetooth products as well.
Many USB, IrDA, and Bluetooth devices come with a driver that automatically redirects all communication with them to a virtual serial port. Users can also take advantage of USB controllers that have been packed by their vendors with a virtual serial port driver, such as FTDI, or a USB/RS-232 adapter instead.
ZylSerialPort.NET has been created in C# with .NET Framework and API calls. Developers can test all of the component's capabilities by downloading the shareware version, which is fully functional but has a nag screen. It's compatible with Visual Studio 2015, 2013, 2012 and 2010. The licensed, paid version (single developer or site license) is royalty-free, which means that the software tool can be used for development purposes.
