AlomWare Undo

AlomWare Undo is a useful application that gives you the possibility to recover lost data, in case you accidentally closed important programs, documents or other windows. It takes screenshots of your desktop and shows your activity in the past 2 hours, enabling you to retrieve Clipboard contents that were replaced in the meantime.

The application gets integrated into the systray and can show a preview of your current desktop (press Ctrl+Win), along with recently copied clips. It also acts as a Clipboard manager. This window stays on top of other programs and contains a small slider that can take you back to previous snapshots.

Three buttons displayed on the bottom of this panel are responsible for enabling and disabling the recordings, showing either window titles or items, as well as for filtering objects based on the keyword you specify.

As far as program settings are concerned, you can change the default hotkey used for bringing up AlomWare Undo in focus, disable desktop recording for later viewing, and force Alt+F4 to close all windows. Also, the utility can be set to prefer single clicks for list items and show lines between list items.

You can delete all history recorded in the snapshots (hold Shift to confirm this), purge all backups except for the more recent five, and open the document backup folder in Windows Explorer.

All things considered, AlomWare Undo proves to be an approachable and useful application to help you get hold of previous work performed in the last two hours, in order to recover unsaved data. You can restore clipboard contents that you still need, as well as reopen applications you closed. The snapshots are displayed in a dedicated area and you may browse through them using the chronological slider.
