IceWarp Server

IceWarp Server is a powerful email and collaboration server designed to help you gain control over email messages and user accounts, while offering support for SyncML, SMTP, IMAP and POP protocols.

The program can be run using the administrative console right from your desktop or via remote server administration options.

The GUI is clean and intuitive so you can’t get lost configuring various dedicated parameters. You are offered quick access to several configuration settings which are grouped in different categories, such as Domain & Accounts, System, Mail, Instant Messaging, VoIP, SMS, Web, FTP, GroupWare, Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Status and Wizards.

You can also administer IceWarp Server working from the remote console, which provides the same functions as the administration one, so configuring the dedicated parameters is very easy for administrators.

IceWarp Server gives you the possibility to open any text file with the IceWarp Server text editor (handy for viewing and editing plain text), save your settings, manage SQL domains and accounts, open the API console panel and tweak API values, and back up your current configuration settings to ZIP file format so you can easily restore them in case some problems may appear.

What’s more, you can add domains, accounts and public folders to IceWarp Server, set your current domain as your primary one, look for all domains, export and import user accounts between two IceWarp servers, as well as import user accounts from Windows or Active directory user database.

IceWarp Server allows you to administer all your domains and accounts, activate global settings that have an effect for all accounts and domains, enable logging and password policies, and set limits on global, domain and user levels (e.g. message size, account size).

Mail options can be configured by tweaking the SMTP service, defining advanced options such as delays, policy banner and server title, and tweaking content filters, rules and auto-clean options.

The instant messaging service helps users chat, transfer files and join group conferences using a secure XMPP/SSL protocol. You may connect to existing accounts, such as AIM, Gadu-Gadu, GroupWise, ICQ, IRC, MySpaceIM, QQ, SILC, and others.

The VoIP service implements the SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) for allowing devices to carry out communication sessions, while the SMS options allow sending and receiving of SMS and sync to mobile networks.

What’s more, you can host websites, work with a rich-featured FTP server (that supports large file transfers, SSL, scheduled sync and multiple FTP hosts), maintain your GroupWare records, scan incoming and outgoing messages for viruses during SMTP transmission, and enable several anti-spam filters.

The program is able to archive all incoming and outgoing email and chat messages. Plus, it integrates an advanced content filtering engine for executing database calls, scripts and other operations.

Another powerful feature worth being mentioned enables you to monitor all traffic on the server in real-time. You are given the freedom to view various session details, log activities, kill sessions as well as block unwanted traffic.

What’s more, the utility is able to generate real-time statistics for all services (in order to monitor the email usage of your users by keeping a log with all sent and received messages) and lets you view a list with your email queues and mailboxes.

There’s also support for volume statistics that show information about system (e.g. number of domains and accounts, total, free and used space, total number of messages), domain (e.g. domain, number of accounts, used space) and account (email, used space and total number of messages).

IceWarp Server helps you use the safe deletion confirmation mode, resolve the shown IP addresses with domain names using a DNS server, and customize the toolbar by adding and removing icons.

IceWarp Server can be considered a reliable and powerful alternative to Microsoft Exchange and Sharepoint servers. It can be easily deployed, sports a user-friendly interface and delivers a decent pack of features.
