AQQ is an instant messaging program that helps you chat with your friends. It offers support for various clients, such as Jabber, Google Talk, Facebook, Gadu-Gadu, Skype, and others.

During the installation process you are allowed to select the components that you want to deploy on your system, namely plugin connector for Gadu-Gadu network, plugin for adding common contacts, plugin for SMS (T-Mobile, Plus, Orange), as well as shortcuts.

Registration can be done by providing information about your email address and password. You can add a profile name and set up one of the supported clients.

The layout of the instant messaging tool is not quite intuitive but the dedicated parameters are well-organized. The chat window does not impress in the visual department but comes with a handy suite of features that help you insert emoticons, drag and drop files directly into the chat panel, erase window content, check out the archive where chat messages are saved, as well as work with multiple tabs.

What’s more, you can set the preferred status, namely Online, Away, Not available, Do not disturb, Invisible or another one, and enable or disable sound notifications.

AQQ gives you the possibility to receive notifications for RSS feeds, email client, Facebook, Twitter or YouTube. You may set up the accounts for the desired clients and make the program update the information at a certain time.

You may add contacts, search for friends, sort contacts by name, nickname or other criterion, add contacts to block list, as well as create groups of contacts.

You may add information about contacts, such as name, homepage, birthdate, email address, country, address, city, region, ZIP code, phone number and many other details. You can opt for binding multiple contacts into a single one (useful if your friends own multiple accounts).

AQQ comes with a handy suite of features for helping you chat with your friends but it needs an overall approach and a GUI facelift in order to enter the competition for the best instant messaging program.
