Version 5.72 was officially released this morning

Installing a third-party Start menu in Windows has become the first thing that many people do after completing the OS setup since the debut of Windows 8 (which completely removed the built-in Start menu), but even if Windows 10 brings back this feature, such apps are still amazingly popular.

Start Menu X is one of those apps that can restore the traditional Windows 7 look of the Start menu and make the desktop feel more like home, so updates are really important not only for the app itself, because they fix bugs and improve performance, but also for users who hope to get new features as soon as possible.

Version 5.72, which was officially released earlier today, doesn’t bring any new features, but it includes improvements to the search option, which wasn’t working exactly as expected in the previous builds.

Starting with this version, clicking the Start menu and typing anything in the search box should be fully responsive and everything should work as expected, the developer guarantees.

Of course, all the other features are still there, so nothing’s changed in this regard, but as the application gets closer to version 6.0, more and more people expect significant improvements in this regard.

In the meantime, this new update clearly comes in very handy, so go download Start Menu X to get the familiar look back on your PC.
