You can get the device for just $200 in the US

Microsoft has recently discounted the second-generation Band smart wristband, bringing it at the original price of the first model launched in November 2014.

Right now, the Band 2 is available in the United States for just $200 (€180), a discount of $50 (€45) that’s offered until February 20, according to the company itself.

Certainly, this $50 discount makes the Band 2 more appealing to US buyers, as it brings it in the same price region as other smartwatches on the market, including new models coming from Fitbit (the Alta, for example, will be available in the United States for $129.95/€110).

Microsoft Band is Redmond’s big bet in the wearables market and is already at the second generation, coming with an improved design and a barometer sensor as compared to its predecessor.

A new overhaul is expected to be unveiled later this year if the same one-device-per-year approach is maintained, but it’s still too early to talk about the third generation now that the current model is only a few months old.

There are no details regarding sales, but the first model was unexpectedly successful, so the new version is supposed to experience at least the same results. In the meantime, this is quite a good moment to purchase a Band 2, given the discount, so head over to the Microsoft store to reserve yours.
