Microsoft's Surface Pro 3, which continues to be Redmond's most advanced tablet to date, and Apple's new iPhone 6 received the Global Mobile Award at MWC 2015, with both devices being praised for their features, design, and approach to the market.

The Surface Pro 3 received the grand prize in the Best Mobile Tablet category, with judges pointing out that Microsoft tried and pretty much managed to create a device that would replace a laptop and offer outstanding productivity on the go.

“Its very carefully engineered design bridges the worlds of consumption and creation like no other. Users can embrace the tablet form factor leaving their PC behind with no regrets,” judges said.

The iPhone 6, on the other hand, won the Best Smartphone prize thanks to the overall package offered to users, which include a very appealing design, great performance, and functionality.

The Surface Pro 3 is already one praised tablet, with many organizations across the world applauding Microsoft for building a device that would indeed offer increased portability, superior battery life and all the advantages that a laptop would provide, all packed in a much lighter device.

Surface Pro 3 is available in three different configurations, with Intel i3, i5, or i7 processor and RAM that could go up to 8 GB. The top model also features 512 GB of storage space and retails in the United States for $1,950 (1,500 euros).
