A new version of the app is now in the store

Twitter for Windows Phone is rarely updated even though quite a lot of people are using it, so some might be actually surprised to hear that a new version is now in the store, waiting for them to download it.

And yet, do not expect anything too exciting to be included in this version, as the fresh release only comes with a couple of changes for its users.

First and foremost, Twitter can now work with Cortana, the personal assistant that continues to be available on Windows Phone only, but which will soon arrive on the desktop too. Even though this was also possible before, Microsoft says that asking Cortana to post a tweet should now work for everyone.

So, the only thing you have to do is say “Cortana, Twitter new Tweet [message]” and the personal assistant should post that message for you.

At the same time, the fresh Twitter update also brings an option that allows users to share a page they load in Internet Explorer using the dedicated sharing feature. This is indeed a helpful improvement and it also works with text or images you load in the browser.

Microsoft warns that there's a bug in older versions that might cause Twitter to fail to launch from the live tile, so removing the app and installing this new release could fix this.

Needless to say, everyone using the social network should update, so download Twitter for Windows Phone to see what's new and try out all improvements on your smartphone too.
