As part of the Windows 10 rollout, Microsoft is also expected to revamp its Modern apps and make them universal so they can be used on all devices running the new OS, and it appears that the Health app is very close to getting this special treatment.

A new version of Microsoft Health is now showing up in the Windows Phone Store, but it cannot be downloaded for the time being, which could be a sign that Redmond is only testing it and getting ready for the release at a later time.

The description of the app does not reveal much about the changes that it could bring, so it’s a little bit too early to discuss the improvement that Microsoft might prepare for this new version. But there’s no doubt that Microsoft will make the Health app universal so it can be used on PCs, tablets, and smartphones in the unified store that the company plans to launch with Windows 10.

The Health app is also playing a key role for Microsoft Band, Redmond’s very first smart wristband which pairs with Android, iOS, and Windows Phone handsets running it. This way, the device can send information collected using its sensors, such as heart rate and exercise summary which can be then analyzed on smartphones.

Right now, it’s not yet clear when Microsoft would make the new Health app available for all users, but you can see it in the store here.
