14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft presented the new Surface 3 yesterday, trying not only to expand its lineup of tablets but also to provide buyers with a more affordable choice when it comes to a tablet running Windows 8.1.
Pricing for the new Surface 3 starts at $499 (€450), so it's not really the most affordable device, but it's still less expensive than the Surface Pro 3, which comes with a price tag of $1,950 (€1,500) for the top-of-the-range model.
The Surface 3 comes with a 10.8-inch display with a resolution of 1920x1280 pixels, 64/128 GB of storage space, and/or 2/4 GB of RAM (based on the configuration you choose), and with a battery that can provide an autonomy of 10 hours, according to Microsoft's specs.
What's more useful is that the Surface 3 also comes with LTE support, so you can browse the Internet on the go even if there's no wireless connection around.
For productivity on the go, Microsoft is also offering support for the Surface Pro 3 digital pen, which is sold separately this time. One thing that needs to be considered is that the Surface 3 dropped the old magnetic charger for microUSB. Here are the full Surface 3 technical specifications:
