Microsoft has just released a brand new Windows commercial that highlights the productivity side of its operating system on a wide array of devices, including PCs and tablets.

Called “People Who Do,” the new ad is also another attempt to demonstrate the world that Windows is no longer an operating system that can be installed on PCs and laptops, but one that's powering pretty much every small or big device around us.

“There are people everywhere doing great things—from revitalizing a city to teaching tomorrow’s farmers. We build Windows for these people, because people who do move the world forward,” Microsoft says.

This is actually the purpose of Windows 10, the revamped operating system that will be available not only on PCs, tablets, and smartphones, but also on smaller devices, possibly wearables, and those with large displays and the IoT.

Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella himself has said on several occasions that Windows is also about productivity, and thanks to support for tablets and smartphones, productivity on the go is no longer a taboo subject.

Basically, with Windows, Office, and OneDrive available on so many devices, Microsoft expects the whole world to be powered by its products, setting an ambitious goal similar to the one of Bill Gates bringing a PC on every desk.

Gates' dream has already come true as PCs running Windows are pretty much everywhere you look, but it remains to be seen if Nadella's expectations can be met.
