Powerful or not, the Surface Pro 3 continues to be one of the most expensive tablets on the market, so discounts launched by Microsoft are very important for the overall success of the device.

Since its launch in May 2014, the company has offered several price cuts supposed to make the tablet more affordable, and a similar campaign was started recently.

And yet, the entry-level Surface Pro 3 was the only model that wasn't available with a price cut, even though this was clearly the version many customers wanted because of its price.

So today, Microsoft has officially introduced a new $100 (€75) discount for the base model as well, which means that you can purchase it for only $699 (€615).

The base version of the Surface Pro 3 comes with an Intel Core i3 processor running at 1.5 GHz, 64 GB of storage space, and 4 GB of RAM. Obviously, the 64 GB of storage might not be enough for a device that's supposed to replace your laptop, but in the end, what you pay is what you get.

Fortunately, the device comes with a USB port if you wish to plug in an external storage drive, and at the same time, there's also cloud-based storage available via OneDrive.

Obviously, there are ways to get around the limited storage space, so if you really want to buy an affordable Surface Pro 3 tablet, this is the best moment to do it.
