The new firmware version is available only to few users

Microsoft started the Lumia Denim rollout last month in some countries across the globe, including a few European states that received the new firmware on models such as Lumia 520.

While everyone expected Denim to be first released to flagships and then to everyone else, it appears that the rollout is going slower than expected, so besides a few devices that got the update in late December, most of the handsets here in Europe are still running Cyan.

Why this is happening is really hard to explain, but people close to Microsoft's plans claim that Denim should arrive on all phones by the end of January.

Obviously, looking at how many devices are yet to be updated to Denim makes it really easy to understand that the rollout could actually take longer than expected, and it's hard to believe that all Lumias would get the new firmware until the end of the spring.

There are a few European countries where absolutely no device has received the Denim update and Ukraine is the best example. Entry-level devices such as Lumia 520 and flagships such as Lumia 930 are still on Cyan, and there's absolutely no word on when all these models could get Denim.

Obviously, the timing of the release also depends on how fast carriers manage to test the new firmware, but it's still frustrating to see flagships and the most popular Windows Phone models out there being neglected during the initial rollout.
