Microsoft presented the new Lumia 640 XL at MWC 2015 in Barcelona and the company confirmed that the device would go on sale later this month in some specific markets, while all the other countries should get it in April.

Fortunately, the device is already up to pre-order through the German version of Amazon, so those who want to get the first batch of Lumia 640 XL units can now reserve one online.

The device is available on Amazon for €219 ($235), but the price is expected to vary by country when the device becomes available worldwide.

The Lumia 640 XL is Microsoft's newest bet in the phablet market and is often considered the successor to Lumia 1320. The device features a 5.7-inch HD IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels, Gorilla Glass 3 protection, and support for Microsoft's singature Glance screen feature that shows notifications for received emails, calls, and messages.

The device also packs 1 GB of RAM and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, as well as 8 GB of internal storage plus support for microSD cards of up to 128 GB.

A 3000 mAh removable battery should be enough to get you through the day, but Microsoft says that, under some conditions, it could even last for more than 48 hours.

The phone will be fully upgradeable to Windows 10 when the new OS becomes available later this year.
