14 DAY TRIAL // Michael Sheldon has updated his awesome Podbird app for Ubuntu Phones to version 0.7, a release that brings a new splash screen and icon to the free and only podcast application for the Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system.
Podbird is an advanced application that lets users easily search for new podcasts, download podcasts on their Ubuntu Phones for offline listening, as well as stream podcasts to other devices.
Podbird 0.7 is an important release, and it introduces support for splitting episode lists into three main categories, Downloaded, Listened, and Unheard, improves the startup times and implements an all-new splash screen and icon.
The automatic checking functionality has been updated as well in Podbird 0.7, and it will no longer check for new podcasts at every startup, but only once every 12 hours. Moreover, an activity indicator is now displayed during these checks.
Podbird 0.7 also lets users customize how far the seek backward and seek forward buttons move, improves the show and hide behavior of the bottom bar, and addresses some user interface overlap issues that occurred while in landscape mode.
Last but not least, Podbird has been updated to the new Ubuntu SDK (Software Development Kit) 1.2 components. You can find the latest version of Podbird in the Ubuntu Store for Ubuntu Touch. The app is supported on all Ubuntu Phone models and it's totally free.
