The amazing Pillars of Eternity party-based RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Paradox Interactive is now discounted on Steam for Linux with 33%.

Pillars of Eternity is one of the most successful Kickstarter projects ever put forth, and players had very high expectations from it. The game is built on Unity, so it landed on the Linux platform along at the same time with everyone else. It's safe to say that it's probably one of the top ten RPG games released in the past decade.

"Prepare to be enchanted by a world where the choices you make and the paths you choose shape your destiny. Obsidian Entertainment, the developer of Fallout: New Vegas and South Park: The Stick of Truth™, together with Paradox Interactive is proud to present Pillars of Eternity," reads the Steam entry.

There is actually a very good reason for this particular discount. The developers have just released a new major DLC for the game, and they want to make sure that as many people as possible will be able to play it. The name of the DLC is The White March Part I, and you'll need the original game in order to play it.

The system requirements for the Pillars of Eternity are not all that high, and everyone should be able to play it. Users will need at least Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 64-bit, an Intel Core i3-2100T @ 2.50 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT.

The promotion of the game is scheduled to end on August 28.
