Users are free to switch to the Debian Wheezy distribution

We reported two months ago that the Parsix GNU/Linux 7.5 (Rinaldo) operating system would reach its end of life on November 14, 2015, urging all users of the distribution to move to the recently released Parsix GNU/Linux 8.0r0 (Mumble) OS.

Unfortunately, today has been the last day when the Parsix GNU/Linux developers provided support for the Parsix GNU/Linux 7.5 (Rinaldo) distro, as it has officially reached its end of life (EOL).

What this means for Parsix GNU/Linux 7.5 users is that they will no longer receive software updates, security patches, and bug fixes starting today, November 14, 2015, but the good news is that you can also switch to Debian Wheezy for security support.

"Reminder: Parsix GNU/Linux 7.5 (Rinaldo) will reach EOL on Nov 14. Please upgrade your systems or switch to Debian Wheezy for security support," write the Parsix GNU/Linux developers in the brief announcement on their Facebook page.

However, the default software repositories will be closed in about one week from today, on November 14, 2015, so that users have a little more time to upgrade to the current stable release of the operating system, Parsix GNU/Linux 8.0r0 (Mumble).

Therefore, we strongly recommend all users of Parsix GNU/Linux 7.5 (Rinaldo) to upgrade to Parsix GNU/Linux 8.0 (Mumble), which is based on the Debian GNU/Linux 8.0 (Jessie) operating system, as soon as possible.
