The latest update for Ubuntu Touch brings a lot of stuff

Canonical has just released the OTA-5 updated for Ubuntu Touch, and the new version has also landed for the users of the Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition.

The launch of the latest OTA update for Ubuntu Touch coincides with Meizu's decision to get rid of the Origami wall and to make the phone available to anyone willing to buy it. This is important because the new update brings a few significant improvements to this platform alone.

The three biggest enhancements to Meizu MX4 Ubuntu Edition are for the battery, making the power consumption in normal usage a lot more efficient, LED notification fixes, which means that the LED now lights up on notifications, and a grid unit change for the main window, allowing users to see more apps in a single screen.

This, of course, piles up on the rest of changes. "Unity8 now supports full-shell rotation, all applications now by default support rotation - explicit locking to a selected one is required if wanted. The whole system also got new updated icons: both the indicators, system-settings, toolkit and core-applications," reads the official wiki.

As usual, Ubuntu Touch users don't need to do anything extra, just upgrade the system and reboot. Enjoy!
