14 DAY TRIAL // Canonical has announced that the latest Firefox 43.0.4 version has been made available in the repositories for the users of Ubuntu 15.10, Ubuntu 15.04, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
Since the latest version of Firefox, 43.0.4, is just a maintenance release, the Ubuntu maintainers have been quick to push the new packages in the repositories. There are a couple of changes and improvements to Firefox 43.0.4, which we covered in a bigger article.
"Karthikeyan Bhargavan and Gaetan Leurent discovered that NSS incorrectly allowed MD5 to be used for TLS 1.2 connections. If a remote attacker were able to perform a man-in-the-middle attack, this flaw could be exploited to view sensitive information," reads the security notice.
More details about the problems that have been identified in the Firefox browser can be found in our original report, but this is the only security issue corrected in this release. To fix it, Ubuntu users need to upgrade as soon as possible. This can be done in a couple of ways, either with the dedicated upgrade tool or by using the terminal.
