Well, that was fast! A few hours ago, Softpedia was the first to announce the release of KDE Plasma 5.4.3 desktop environment, which has apparently already landed in the Kubuntu Backports repository of Kubuntu 15.10.

We believe that Kubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) users are among the first to receive the new KDE Plasma 5.4.3 update, along with Arch Linux, OpenSuSE Tumbleweed, and Debian Stretch users, only a few hours after the official announcement.

According to Scarlett Clark of Kubuntu, who published the brief announcement on her blog, the new KDE Plasma 5.4.3 desktop environment will also be released for Kubuntu 15.04 (Vivid Vervet) users in the coming days.

KDE Plasma 5.4.3 is a bugfix release, the last in the series, and brings KWin improvements, an updated KSplash background, better support for the KScreen KDE Control Module (KCM) in System Settings, Muon package manager fixes.

If you haven't done so by now, you must add the Kubuntu Backports software repository in your Kubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf) operating system to update to the new KDE Plasma 5 releases.

Therefore, to add the repo and update to KDE Plasma 5.4.3, open the Terminal app and paste the following commands, one by one, hitting the Enter key after each one. Don't forget to reboot your machine after the update.

code
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
