Neofytos Kolokotronis of the Chakra GNU/Linux project has had the pleasure of announcing earlier today, November 15, the immediate availability of the latest KDE technologies in the default software repositories of Chakra GNU/Linux.

We reported earlier this week on the release of the Chakra GNU/Linux 2015.11 "Fermi" ISO, which contained the latest KDE technologies available at that point in time. However, now that KDE announced the new releases of its Plasma, Applications, and Frameworks software, the Chakra developers needed to update them in the distribution.

And so, all users of the Chakra GNU/Linux rolling-release computer operating system can enjoy the recently offered KDE Plasma 5.4.3 desktop environment, KDE Applications 15.08.3 software suites, as well as the KDE Frameworks 5.16.0 toolkit, available now from the distro's default repositories.

Additionally, the Calligra 2.9.9 office suite, SDDM 0.13.0 login manager, and an experimental Qt 5 version of the powerful Clementine open-source audio player have also been added to the default software repositories of the Chakra GNU/Linux distribution.

"It's only been a couple of days since our 2015.11-Fermi ISO release, but it is already time for new updates," says Neofytos Kolokotronis in today's announcement. "KDE's Plasma 5.4.3, Applications 15.08.3 and Frameworks 5.16.0 are now available in Chakra. These releases contain mostly bugfixes and translation updates, so they should be safe to update for everyone."

Therefore, with this article, we're urging all users of the Chakra GNU/Linux operating system to update their installations as soon as possible if they want to enjoy the latest KDE software. Please keep in mind to answer "yes" to any replacement question of the pacman package manager.
