This is not a stable app, but it's coming together just fine

GPS Navigation is a free app for Ubuntu Touch, and it's been getting constant updates for the past few weeks. It's still in the development stages, but it looks like it's coming together just nicely.

GPS Navigation fills a very important niche in the apps ecosystem for this new platform. Having a working GPS app is really useful, and in this case, it's with the added bonus of being completely free and based on an open project. You can hardly ask for more.

The developer has explained that it should work pretty much anywhere in the world and that it uses OpenStreetMap and OSRM. For now, only the online mode is working, and there are a few known bugs. This happens because the app is very young and it's not considered stable by any means. Nonetheless, new features are constantly added, and GPS Navigation will reach "awesome" status in a few months’ time if things make progress at the same pace.

A bunch of new features have just landed in the app, including Go to Gas Station, Semioffline route, Zoom preferences for high speed, and new language support (Asturian, French, Hungarian, Italian, and Spanish).

Just look up GPS Navigation in the Ubuntu Touch store and install it. Make sure that you provide feedback so that the app gets even better.
