flareGet, a full-featured, advanced, multi-threaded, multi-segment download manager and accelerator for Linux and other platforms, has received an update and quite a few fixes.

There are a ton of download managers on the Linux platform, but most of them only work in the terminal. On the other hand, there are just a handful of download managers that also come with a handy GUI and flareGet is one them. The fact that you can't really pick and choose in this category of apps is also the probable reason why the developer is selling this app and doesn't provide it for free.

According to the changelog, the application is now capable of downloading files smaller than 5 Kb, the download dialog behavior has been changed and it's now displayed on top, a few minor UI issues have been corrected, a notification for download start is now provided, the queue manager has been refined, and support for showing files selected on opening in the file manager has been added.

flareGet provides support for multiple protocols, resume and mirror support, YouTube downloader, batch downloads, speed limits, browser integration, and most importantly, file segmentation and multi-threaded downloads, and a large number of other features.

A complete list of changes and new features can be found in the official announcement. You can also check out our review of the application. You can download flareGet right now from Softpedia. As usual, don't forget to restart the application.
