Fedora/DNF developer Jan Šilhan has announced earlier today, November 24, the immediate availability for download of new maintenance releases for the DNF package manager of the Fedora 23 Linux operating system, including DNF-PLUGINS-CORE.

According to Mr. Šilhan, DNF is now at version 1.1.4, and it is mostly a bugfix release that resolves various issues reported by users since the previous version of the software, adds new methods into the DNF query API, and improves the documentation.

"New release of DNF and DNF-PLUGINS-CORE is out. Aside from bug fixes and documentation improvements, new methods were added into DNF query API – take advantage of them," says Jan Šilhan in today's brief release announcement.

Looking at the release notes, we can notice that the dnf.Query.duplicated() function has been added, and :meth:`dnf.Query.latest has been extended. Among the improvements, there's now better support extracting plural strings, and the system-upgrade plugin is now discoverable when using certain Asian locales, such as Japanese and Chinese.

On the other hand, the changelog for DNF-PLUGINS-CORE shows us that five bugs have been resolved. All users of the Fedora 23 Linux distribution are urged to update the DNF and DNF-PLUGINS-CORE packages on their system as soon as possible, as they are already available in the default software repositories.

The new DNF and DNF-PLUGINS-CORE 1.1.4 releases are also available in Fedora Rawhide.
