Today, March 17, 2016, the developers of the Debian-based Elive Linux distribution built on top of the Enlightenment desktop environment have announced the availability of a new Beta build.

Elive 2.6.18 Beta has been made available for download, but the fact of the matter is that the 2.6 branch of the GNU/Linux distribution has been in development for quite too long now, and it doesn't look like it will be promoted to the stable channel anytime soon.

The new Beta is a small one, bringing huge improvements to the time compatibility for computers where Elive is dual-booting with the Microsoft Windows operating system, the latest Blender 2.76 free and open-source 3D modeller, as well as speed and performance improvements to the installer, along with small fixes with fallback options.

Anyway, if you want to help the Elive Linux developers discover issues that need to be fixed, you should download the Elive 2.6.18 Beta ISO image right now from our website and take it for a test drive. Just please try to keep in mind that it requires you to donate money if you plan on installing it on your computer.

When testing Elive 2.6.18 Beta, please keep in mind that it's a pre-release version that might contain bugs. "We need your feedback, each new beta version could include things not working as expected, if is the case please contact us so that we can fix the problem asap," say the Elive developers in today's announcement.
