While Valentine’s Day is past us now, it looks like some are a little bit late to the party, as the developers of the Debian-based Elive Linux distribution have announced today, February 15, 2016, the release of yet another Beta build.

According to the announcement, Elive 2.6.14 Beta is a special Valentine’s Day release that includes a new option in the installer, which promises to detect broken disk drivers and fix them where possible, thus making them work without errors. However, the new "magic" feature will work only for disks that contain bad blocks.

"For this Valentine’s Day we have a special release, since there’s a lot of waste of technology in the world, the installer includes now a magic feature that detects and repairs your broken hard disks making them to work again without errors. Because we love this wonderful world and we want it green, natural, and healthy," devs explain.

Besides the new installer feature detailed above, Elive 2.6.14 Beta comes with a utility that lets Windows users write the Elive Live ISO image on USB flash drives while at the same time improving failsafe flags during the boot process.
