Zbigniew Konojacki, the developer of the 4MLinux project, has sent us an email earlier today to inform us about the release and immediate availability for download of his BakAndImgCD 15.0 distrolette, a Live CD targeted at disk imaging and data backup operations.

The BakAndImgCD 15.0 release is now based on the 4MLinux Backup Scripts 15.0, it is an official fork of the 4MLinux computer operating system, and has been engineered by Mr. Konojacki to be used for backing up your data from any supported file system. This includes FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, F2FS, EXT2, EXT3, EXT4, ReiserFS, Reiser4, XFS, Btrfs, HFS, HFS+, NILFS2, and JFS, as well as clone disk partitions.

"BakAndImgCD is an official 4MLinux fork, which has been designed to perform the following two tasks: data backup (the supported filesystems are: btrfs, ext2, ext3, ext4, f2fs, fat16, fat32, hfs, hfs+, jfs, nilfs2, ntfs, reiser4, reiserfs, and xfs) and disk imaging (using Partimage, Partclone, and GNU ddrescue). This release is based on the 4MLinux Backup Scripts 15.0," said Zbigniew Konojacki.

Among the included disk partitioning tools, the BakAndImgCD 15.0 release comes with the popular Partclone and Partimage command-line programs, as well as the GNU ddrescue CLI utility for rescuing disks. You can download the BakAndImgCD 15.0 Live ISO image right now from Softpedia, which you can use on both 64-bit (x86_64) and 32-bit (x86) computers.
