14 DAY TRIAL // 4MLinux developer Zbigniew Konojacki today informs Softpedia about the immediate availability for download of a new build of his Antivirus Live CD tool based on the latest 4MLinux and ClamAV projects.
First, for those who are not in the known, we would like to inform them that Antivirus Live CD has been designed from the offset by Mr. Konojacki as an independent and standalone anti-virus solution, based on the open-source ClamAV (Clam AntiVirus) software, for any platform, including GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows PCs.
Antivirus Live CD is derived from the 4MLinux operating system created by Zbigniew Konojacki, and distributed in two variants, one that contains all the virus signatures, and another one without them, for those who don't have enough bandwidth to download the first edition.
Today's release, Antivirus Live CD 17.0-0.99.1 is, as its version number suggests, based on the 4MLinux 17.0 distribution, which is currently in Beta stages of development, and ClamAV 0.99.1. Of course, there are also some small under-the-hood improvements and bug fixes implemented in the new build.
"Antivirus Live CD is an official 4MLinux fork including the ClamAV scanner. It's designed for users who need a lightweight live CD, which will help them to protect their computers against viruses," said Zbigniew Konojacki in the email announcement. "The latest version 17.0-0.99.1 is based on 4MLinux 17.0 and ClamAV 0.99.1."
