Valve listed the game with a bunch of other ones

Valve has inadvertently revealed that the multiplayer game Evolve is also coming to Linux, despite the fact that studio that builds it gave no indication that it was working on a port.

The game is developed by Turtle Rock Studios and published by 2K, which is a publisher that's been very Linux friendly until now, so it's not really a surprise that a Linux version is incoming. They would have probably wanted to make the announcement on their own terms and timetable, but that went out the window.

"We've been working with the makers of the best-selling games you know and love to bring their Steam titles to your living room. Big names like Dying Light, Evolve, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, Total War: ATTILA and many more are headed to SteamOS and Steam Machines this year," reads the announcement made by Valve in connection with the Steam Machines.

There are two possibilities here, either Valve mentioned Evolve by mistake or they jumped the gun, albeit the first one is much more probable. Now, if you don't already know this, a new SteamOS sale is now in effect and a lot of new games have been announced for the Linux platform.
