The Ubuntu GNOME 15.04 Beta 2 has been released on March 26 along with the Ubuntu 15.04 Final Beta, Kubuntu 15.04 Beta 2, Ubuntu MATE 15.04 Beta 2, Xubuntu 15.04 Beta 2, Lubuntu 15.04 Beta 2, Ubuntu Kylin 15.04 Beta 2, and Ubuntu Studio 15.04 Beta 2 operating systems.

While there are no official release notes for this second and last Beta of Ubuntu GNOME 15.04 (Vivid Vervet), we feel obliged to inform our users about the changes it brings. Therefore, we took the distribution for a quick test drive and created a screenshot tour that you can view at the end of the article.

The first Beta of Ubuntu GNOME 15.04 brought the GNOME Shell 3.14.3 user interface, an experimental Wayland session, and updated Ubiquity slideshow and desktop wallpaper.

The second Beta includes no new features, only bug fixes. It is still based on the GNOME 3.14 desktop environment, and various core components have been updated to version 3.14.1 or 3.14.2.

Yes, it uses the Linux kernel 3.19.2 packages from the upstream Ubuntu 15.04 operating system, but the rest is quite intact. Unfortunately, the recently released GNOME 3.16 desktop environment won’t arrive in the final Ubuntu GNOME 15.04 release.

Download Ubuntu GNOME 15.04 Beta 2 right now from Softpedia, but keep in mind that it is not ready for production use and you might encounter some issues while testing it.
