OpenTTD, an open source simulation game based on the popular Microprose title Transport Tycoon written by Chris Sawyer, has been upgraded once more and the developers have added a number of features and important.

It's hard to imagine that someone managed to keep the original Transport Tycoon alive, even if it's an open source project. In fact, the game that we get to play today is much bigger and much better than the original title, so it's actually a win for the gaming community. OpenTTD improves upon the original release in all aspects, including resolution, scope, level size, graphics, and pretty much everything else.

It's the time of the year when everybody does a little crazy, and much like every year, we join the fun. This year, we release the 1.5.0 stable release, with higher mountains than you have ever seen before, a better UI for high-resolution screens, and a much more rural intro screen," said the devs on the official website.

According to the changelog, the road vehicle acceleration no longer crashes, the regular clipping functions are now being used, the default window sizes are now set according to the GUI zoom, and a ton of other fixes have been added.

Check out the changelog for a complete list of updates and fixes. You can download OpenTTD 1.5.0 right now from Softpedia.
