Simon Steinbeiss, one of the developers from the Xfce desktop environment, has uploaded a few hours ago on Xfce’s Git repository what appears to be the new wallpaper of the forthcoming Xfce 4.12, due for release this weekend if everything goes according to the release plan.

The Xfce developers are hard at work these days, as they prepare to release the highly anticipated Xfce 4.12 desktop environment after a 2-year delay. This fact is also confirmed by the abundance of commits, which we have to admit that are mostly translation updates.

The Xfdesktop package has been modified today by Simon Steinbeiss, who just uploaded a new wallpaper called Xfce Teal. We’ve grabbed the new Xfce 4.12 wallpaper from the latest Xfdesktop package and posted it on this blog article for your viewing pleasure.

It remains to be seen if the Xfce 4.12 desktop environment will be released today, February 28 or tomorrow, March 1, 2015. More details about the features brought by Xfce 4.12 can be found on various Softpedia articles. Special thanks to Michael Larabel from Phoronix for reporting the Git change about the new Xfce 4.12 wallpaper earlier today.
