Shadow Warrior, an FPS build by Flying Wild Hog that is described as a bold re-imagining of the classic 3D Realms’ shooter with the same name that was released back in 1996, might be getting a Linux release.

There is no official information regarding the release of this game on the Linux platform, but the developers have made some changes to the depos and those modifications can be noticed immediately. There is a new entry named "Shadow Warrior Mac and Linux Testing" and that it's pretty obvious that a Linux version is in the works.

There have been false alarms before in the Steam database and it won't be for the first time that happens, but they are few and they usually involve developer messing with the VR files, for example.

The information about the Linux version is taken from the Steam database, and by no means is it completely certain. The Steam Database is a record of data that describes every Steam game and subscription provided by Valve for the Steam service.

We already have a review in place, for the Windows version of the game, and the Steam community seems to like this title a lot, so it's definitely worth watching out for. We'll keep you informed if we learn more about the Linux release.
