A new version of the popular and cross-platform Plex Media Server has arrived today with several new features, as well as bug fixes that improve the overall stability and performance of the application.

Among the new features implemented in Plex Media Server 0.9.12.1, we can mention support for the CentOS 7 Linux operating system, support for decade-based filtering for albums and movies, while it also enables iTunes importing code for UNIX.

In addition, a hidden preference was added for sorting albums, as well as an all-new library preference for telling the scanner to respect media tags. It is now possible to set advanced preference for iTunes importing with path to library XML.

Several issues were repaired as well in Plex Media Server 0.9.12.1, such as a start-up crash on Linux systems, installation and uninstallation issues with Ubuntu and Linux Mint operating systems, and various other small crashes.

Last but not least, the Scanner component now correctly picks up new media and no longer stops in the middle of the scanning process under Microsoft Windows operating systems, and an issue with the Synology software was patched.

As expected, the new release includes fixes for several other minor stability issues. You can download Plex Media Server 0.9.12.1 for Linux, Mac OS X, and Microsoft Windows operating systems right now from Softpedia.
