The developers are taking their time with the OS

Ozon is a new OS in the making that uses a custom shell called Atom ES. It's based on Fedora and it looks like the developers are making some great progress with it.

New Linux distributions are a dime a dozen, and most of them are actually poorly built and with no future whatsoever. The Linux history is littered with the rotting bodies of distros that are not maintained anymore or that have been abandoned. Building an operating system is not an easy task, and building one that's as complex as Ozon is all the more difficult.

"New tabs design has landed in our GTK theme. There is more work to be done (checkboxes, radios buttons, switches, sliders, apps theming and fixing some stuff that annoys us), but the theme is shaping up quite nicely," noted the Ozon OS developers on Google+.

There is no indication regarding the launch of this new distro, but it's probably following the "when it's done" policy. They still have a lot of work to do and having the shell ready is just not enough. The OS was initially announced in back in April 2014 and it has already undergone serious changes since then. The project is still young and we'll be keeping an eye on it.
