14 DAY TRIAL // David Callé has announced earlier today that he developed a web-based application for the developer.ubuntu.com website designed from the ground up to allow anyone to create Web Apps for the Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system that powers the awesome Ubuntu phones everyone talks about these days.
The web-based application is quite simple to use, as all you have to do is to input the name of the Web App, the URL of the website you want to promote, an icon for the application so it looks nice in the Ubuntu Phone Store, some essential options for the app, as well as details about the maintainer.
The form will then automatically generate the binary .click package for the Web App, which you will have to upload to the Ubuntu Touch Store. When creating the Web App, pay extra attention to the "Developer namespace" field, as you must use the same namespace entered on your account details of Ubuntu Store.
Of course, if you want to create more complex applications for Ubuntu Phone, you will have to rely on the Ubuntu SDK. You can access the new tool at https://developer.ubuntu.com/webapp-generator/ (a free Ubuntu SSO account is required).
