Feral Interactive has announced that Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will arrive on the Linux platform this spring, making this the second title published by Warner Bros. with Linux support.

The announcement regarding the release of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor for the Linux fans came out of the blue. No one really expected to see a triple A title like this one popping up on Steam for Linux in just a few months. The developers from Feral Interactive even said the they target this spring as the launch window, which means that they were working for some time on the port.

"We are happy to announce that the award-winning action adventure game Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor will be released on Linux this Spring and it will be a SteamPlay title that will run on Ubuntu 14.04 and Valve’s SteamOS, and will follow the Linux releases of Empire: Total War and XCOM: Enemy Unknown last year," wrote the developers on their website.

In fact, another game from the Warner Bros. portfolio, Mad Max, was also announced with Linux support and it will arrive on September 4. The news about these two titles arrived on the same day, which is quite an interesting coincidence. We'll have a review ready soon after the game is playable in Steam for Linux.
