The Linux version will arrive at a later date

Magicka 2, a co-op action adventure developed and published by Paradox Interactive, will be getting a Linux release, somewhere down the line.

The first Magicka game allowed users to combine spells with surprising effects and to enter a strange world of mages of adventures. It was also one of the first Linux games of the new generation. It was only natural for the user to wonder if a Linux version will also be available for the second title as well.

As it turns out, the developers from Paradox Interactive do have a Linux version planned, although they won't be releasing it along with Windows one and it probably needs a little bit more work. This information comes from the Steam forums where a developer answered a question from a user. "Yes, there's hope. :) It won't be a launch-day platfrom regrettably, but it's very much something we want to do," said Graham.

From what the developers are saying about the game, it won't be a lot more different from the first one, but it's likely it will get a better engine and many improvements. "As an all-powerful Wizard, you will have thousands of spells at your fingertips to experiment and defeat evil with, use them together with special Magicks to annihilate foes or give necessary aid to your companions," is noted in the Steam synopsis.

The launch date for Magicka 2 is just 2015, so we will keep you apprised with any new information on this subject.
