The Document Foundation has announced that the second Release Candidate for LibreOffice 4.4.2 branch version has been made available and is now ready for download and testing.

A second and probably last release candidate is now available for download. This is just a maintenance update for the LibreOffice 4.4.x branch, which was already updated a little over a month ago.

"The Linux and Mac packages can be installed in parallel to LibreOffice 4.3, but not run simultaneously - documents will be opened in the version you've started first," is noted in the changelog.

If you have an Ubuntu system, you might be able to get the new version from this PPA. Just enter these commands in a terminal (root is needed):

code
sudo apt-get purge libreoffice-core
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-prereleases
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install libreoffice
You can download the LibreOffice 4.4.2 RC2 source packages from Softpedia, if you want to compile them yourself. You can also get the Windows or Mac OS X versions from Softpedia as well. Please keep in mind that you will have to remove the stable version, if you have it installed. If you install them in parallel, you will need to purge them both in order to fix any issues.
