Super Meat Boy, an indie 2D platformer developed by Team Meat, is now available on Steam for Linux with a 75% discount that will expire in a little over a day.

Super Meat Boy is a famous platformer that managed to sell millions of copies. It managed to bring back a piece from the old days of gaming when it was much more difficult to finish something without dying a gazillion times. Super Meat Boy was initially made available on Linux back in 2011, for a Humble Bundle collection, but it took the devs a couple of years to bring it to Steam.

"Super Meat Boy brings the old school difficulty of classic NES titles like Mega Man 2, Ghost and Goblins and Super Mario Bros. 2 (The Japanese one) and stream lines them down to the essential no BS straight forward twitch reflex platforming," reads the official synopsis.

The system requirements for the game are pretty low. There is no particular Linux OS specified, which means that it will run on any distro that can also run Steam. Users will also need a 1.4GHz or faster processor, 1GB of RAM, a graphics card that has at least Pixel Shader 3.0 and Vertex Shader 3.0, and 300 MB of HDD space. It's fully compatible with gamepads, but a keyboard is also useful.

The game now benefits from a 75% discount, and those who want to take advantage of the offer should hurry up because it is scheduled to end in a little over a day. More details about this game can be found of the Steam website.
