Grim Fandango Remastered, a remake of the original Grim Fandango game developed by LucasArts, has been released for the Linux platform.

The studio that took charge of the remake is none other than Double Fine Productions. They had a lot of success with all of their recent releases, like The Cave, Brütal Legend, Broken Age, Massive Chalice, or Costume Quest 2.

"Something's rotten in the land of the dead, and you're being played for a sucker. Meet Manny Calavera, travel agent at the Department of Death. He sells luxury packages to souls on their four-year journey to eternal rest," reads the Steam synopses.

The remastered process brings new high-resolution textures, the lighting system has been enhanced, the soundtrack was re-recorded with the help of a real orchestra, and 2 hours of developer commentaries have been integrated.

The system requirements for the game are pretty low, but not as low as you might imagine. Users will need at least Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon™ X2 2.8 GHz, 4GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 4650, NVIDIA GeForce GT 220, or Intel HD 4000 Graphics, 6GB of HDD space. The GPU needs to support at least OpenGL 3.3.
