GnuCash is a personal and small-business financial/accounting application that's been freely licensed and distributed under the GNU GPL license for a long time. A new update that brings numerous bug fixes has been released and is now ready for download.

GnuCash used to be a very popular application for small business, but the interest towards it decreased in the past few years. The developers have continued to improve upon it, and they constantly add new features and make important changes. This current release is a maintenance one, but it's interesting nonetheless.

According to the changelog, normal gettext or intltool toolchain are now being used for scm files, the creation of a cash flow report no longer takes a long time, a couple of symbols for currencies have been updated, the new account template has been fixed, the "Red line" threshold no longer applies to Template scheduled transactions, and the compilation from source no longer fails.

Also, scrubbing has been improved, the US Income Tax data has been updated, income and expense reporting has been refined, and numerous bugs and crashes has been corrected.

More details about this release can be found in the software's source archive or on the official website. You can download GnuCash 2.6.6 right now from Softpedia, but please keep in mind that it needs to be compiled.
