Feral Interactive is one of the two companies that are now doing most of the porting work for major Linux games, and they want to know just how many Linux and Mac OS X fans are out there.

Feral Interactive has posted a small announcement on Facebook and other social media with a simple message, and the company wants to see just how many Linux and Mac OS X fans are out there. It's not really a competition, and they say that they are doing this in the name of science.

"Do you follow us on Facebook? If so, we’re curious about your opinion on something: Mac or Linux? Please tell us in the comments if you’re a Mac gamer or a Linux gamer. It’ll be interesting to uncover what ratio we have here on Facebook. Just think of all the science!" reads the entry on Facebook.

It's not clear what Feral Interactive is actually trying to achieve with this semi-poll, but quite a few Linux users have already answered. Until now, Feral Interactive has ported the Empire: Total War Collection and the XCOM: Enemy Unknown - The Complete Edition, but they also have other projects going like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, GRID Autosport, and Company of Heroes 2.
