The last screenshot tour article in the Fedora 22 Beta screenshot tour series is about the MATE/Compiz edition, which is less popular than the Fedora 22 Workstation, Fedora 22 KDE Plasma 5, Fedora 22 Xfce, or Fedora 22 LXDE operating systems for which we have separate screenshot tours.

The most interesting feature of the MATE/Compiz Edition of Fedora 22 Beta is that the distribution is now based on a pre-release version of the MATE 1.10.0 desktop environment. In addition, several pre-installed apps have been updated to their latest versions, including Mozilla Firefox 37.0.1 and LibreOffice 4.4.

"Fedora spins are alternative versions of Fedora, tailored for various types of users via hand-picked application sets or customizations," was stated in the official release announcement for Fedora 22 Beta. " You can browse all of the available spins via spins.fedoraproject.org."

As usual, you can download the Fedora 22 MATE/Compiz Beta Edition right now via Softpedia or directly from the Fedora Project website. When testing the operating system, please keep in mind that it's a pre-release version that might contain unresolved issues. Thus, it is not recommended for production environments.
