Satellite Reign, a new real-time class-based strategy game developed and published by 5 Lives Studios, has been released on Steam for Linux.

The game is still under development and it's in Early Access, but that doesn't mean it's not playable. In fact, the developers from 5 Lives Studios have been working on the game since 2013. The game went through a successful Kickstarter campaign and now the players can get to try it on Steam for Linux, although it's not complete just yet.

"You control a team of four agents, each with distinct and unique abilities, collectively battling for control of a simulated, living cyberpunk city. The game world is designed to facilitate emergent gameplay, giving you the tools and freedom to play how you want to play, so you can create strategies and scenarios that not even we had anticipated! Customise your team with the strength to destroy your enemies head-on, or hack into their facilities to manipulate their infrastructure without them ever knowing you were even there" reads the Steam entry.

The system requirements for the game are not very high. Users will need at least Ubuntu 10.10, a Dual Core 2.4 Ghz processor, 2048 MB of RAM, a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce 8800GT, and 1 GB of HDD space.

Satellite Reign also comes with a 10% discount that is set to expire on December 18.
