This has nothing to do with Canonical or the Ubuntu OS

There are a ton of Ubuntu-named products out there that range from beer up to an operating system developed by a company called Canonical. Users have now found a blend of coffee that carries the same name.

Ubuntu is an African word that can be roughly translated into "human kindness," but it's considered to be much more of a philosophy than anything else. The word was popularized by Canonical after the company started to build an operating system with this exact name. There is also a joke in the Linux community that says Ubuntu also stands for "I can't configure Debian" or "I can't configure Slackware."

In any case, Ubuntu is not a trademarked term and it looks like many other companies have used it over time, for beer and even juice made from sugar cane. Now, a Reddit user snapped a picture of Ubuntu coffee, but there is no indication of the make, blend, of even the country of origin.

If you've seen any kind of Ubuntu products that are not made by Canonical (shirts, cups, or other stuff like this), don't be shy and let us know in the comment section below. In the meantime, you can check the Wikipedia entry on Ubuntu and brush up a little on your philosophy skills.

UPDATE: A reader posted a link to an online source that sells this coffee.
