We reported two weeks ago that Canonical launched a new contest for Ubuntu fans who want to win an Ubuntu phone device and many other goodies, which should have been ended on August 17, 2015.

Today we have some very good news for those of you who still want to win a smartphone powered by Canonical's Ubuntu Touch mobile operating system, as the contest has been extended until August 25, 2015.

All you have to do is to get creative and make your own, original Sci-Fi film. It must be created in the GIF file format and uploaded to your Twitter account using the #UbuntuGoesSciFi hashtag. That's it!

"We’re inviting the public to create their own Sci-Fi film GIFS where DJ Yoda will judge the best. All we ask is that you be as creative and original as possible," says Amrisha, social media and campaign manager at Canonical. "We're extending our #UbuntuGoesSciFi competition to the 25th August!"

All the rules and details are published on Canonical's blog post. The best GIF will win an Ubuntu phone, two tickets to the Bestival 2015 music festival, including flights tickets and luxury camping, as well as the possibility to meet and greet DJ Yoda.

While second place will win an Ubuntu phone device and the "The Breakfast of Champions" CD album of DJ Yoda, the third place will win only an Ubuntu phone. So, what are you waiting for? Go get creative and win some Ubuntu phones!
