Just a few moments ago, February 5, 2016, Valve Corporation, the famous video game developer and digital distribution company, and Firaxis, an American video game developer, announced their collaboration on native integration for Valve's Steam Controller device with the new XCOM 2 title.

Players who buy the XCOM 2 game and have a Steam Controller device will be able to use different control schemes based on the in-game situation. They will also experience responsive and accurate 1:1 camera controls in both the Tactical and Geoscape views using the touchpads while also being capable of quickly selecting their ability thanks to Steam Controller's Touch Menus.

"We’re excited to announce that Firaxis and Valve are collaborating on native integration for the Steam Controller, and we can’t wait for fans to get early access to it starting today," developers explained. "We consider this configuration to be an initial implementation, and as always, we hope the community will provide feedback in addition to making improvements to the configuration on their own."

XCOM 2 is the sequel to the award-winning strategy game XCOM: Enemy Unknown. The game has been launched on Steam for Linux, Mac and Windows today, February 5, 2016, and on this occasion, Valve announces the availability of a 40% discounted bundle containing the acclaimed game and the Steam Controller device.

Already bought the game? No worries, Valve has got you covered, and you can still purchase the Steam Controller at a special price. However, please note that the bundle packages will be made available to US customers at 9 PM PST. Oh, and they're waiting for your feedback on the native Steam Controller integration so that they can improve it.
