On the last day of September, Canonical's Łukasz Zemczak sent in his daily report to inform Ubuntu Touch developers and Ubuntu Phone users alike about the latest new features and bug fixes implemented in the upcoming OTA-7 software update for Canonical's mobile operating system.

According to Mr. Zemczak, September 30 was a very quiet day as far as new features are concerned. The Ubuntu Touch OTA-7 update received only a new bugfix for Qt 5, which landed in the overlay-ppa channel. Additionally, the livecd-rootfs received some small changes that will make the image a little bit smaller.

"A rather quiet day today in the landing world, with only a new Qt5 bugfix release landing in the overlay-ppa," says developer Łukasz Zemczak. "We also landed a small change in livecd-rootfs today that should save us some MB on the image. This is a good thing as we are growing in size constantly. More news tomorrow."

Mr. Zemczak also reports that the Ubuntu Touch developers are working hard these days to prepare even more goodies for the OTA-7 software update, which is scheduled for release later this month, on October 19, including a new Unity 8 update, improvements to the platform-api, and various other changes. We will have more news about Ubuntu Touch OTA-7 tomorrow, so keep an eye on this space.
