We have just been informed by Riccardo Padovani, the creator of the Falldown face-paced and addictive game for Ubuntu Phone, that he and his team release a major update.

Version 0.3.1 of Falldown for Ubuntu Touch is now live in the Ubuntu Store and the biggest feature it introduces is support for themes. Falldown 0.3.1 comes with a very nice theme, in addition to the existing, cartoonish-like one, but users who want more themes are invited to create their own using the instructions provided by the devs.

"We are proud to announce a new update for Falldown game for Ubuntu," says Riccardo Padovani. "But first, thanks for all your support, 630 users have downloaded the app so far! And we are happy to announce we won the UbuContest so mivoligo and I will be in Berlin for the UbuCon. If you are here, ping me to drink a coffee together."

There are also several under-the-hood improvements in Falldown 0.3.1, and the developers decided to leave the game free forever, but donations are always welcome. Last but not least, there's now a port of Falldown for the Sailfish OS mobile operating system that powers the Jolla phone.

What's next for Falldown? Well, versions 0.4 and 0.5 are already in development and the devs promise to introduce more awesome themes, new soundtracks, as well as various performance improvements. We will have more details in the coming weeks, so make sure that you follow us on Twitter, Google+, and Facebook.
